I’m 40 years old I’ve been training and unconventional strength with clubs and mace and kettle bells or 5 + years. I’ve been a Avid practitioner of martial arts since the age of 13. I’ve competed and amateur kickboxing and mma I trained and trained with some of the best MMA fighters in Northeast Mississippi.
I’ve got mace certification from Rik Brown and the AKA Plus clubs with the same organization. I’ve competed and achieved first place at the Arnold Classic as well as the Olympia in Vegas. Training what clubs in mace and kettlebell have changed my life in many different ways and I look forward to helping others achieve so many goals and strength and fitness with these awesome tools.

Michael’s focus is not only on the typical strength training (while he finds that vital to some trainings), he also likes to focus on proper body mechanics and fully body wellness. He works with clients to improve both strength and to accomplish rehabilitation. By incorporating both the ADEX clubs and mace into workouts, his clients are stronger and more confident. Michael prides himself in his mace work and enjoys competing regularly.

My journey began in 1991 when I started training at age 7 in the martial art of Taekwondo. In 1996, I achieved the rank of 1st Dan Black belt and then the rank of 2nd Dan later in 2001 at age 17. I competed in martial art tournaments regularly throughout those years and I was also extremely fortunate to train under several instructors of other various styles such as Judo, jujitsu,Akido, Taijichuan and karate.
My career as a fitness professional started in February of 2006 when I applied for a group exercise instructor position at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA. Since then I’ve learned multiple modalities of exercise classes and also became a personal trainer in 2007.
Currently, I am still working full time at Canyon Ranch and am passionate about constantly furthering my education. Some of my favorite training methods are bodyweight movement, kettlebells, sandbags, clubs and Maces.
