I love to train. You probably do too. Whatever sport I was involved in over the years, I went “all in”. It didn’t matter if it was baseball, football, swim team, martial arts, or strength training. I gave it 100%. Many people start training for a certain result they want, even if they are not a fan of the required training. People with enough dedication and self-discipline actually start enjoying the training itself. We look forward to it each time. Even when we feel lousy, we still go train. The last thing we want to do is slow down or rest, but that is how we can sabotage ourselves. Like it or not, our bodies need rest. Rest is when all the good stuff happens. We get stronger, leaner, and more fit during rest. Of course, part of that is quality sleep on a regular basis. Some days you just have skip the gym, or wherever you train. At times you have to take a whole week off. If you plan your training with deload weeks built in, you are ahead of the game. Make yourself rest, period! “No brain, no gain” Coach D |
