Wow, it’s almost Monday!
There’s no question about it, you can get really strong using barbells.
Those powerful linear movements are fine if your daily life operates only on moving in a straight line with balanced loads.
Don’t get me wrong I love deadlifts, squats, and bench presses.
If we think about it, much of what we do doesn’t happen that way.
There are times we need to turn or twist our bodies to get something done.
Have you done this or seen this?
A woman holding a baby or a wiggly child in one arm and working with the other arm at the same time.
That’s a pretty lopsided load, plus she probably has to pick up stuff from the floor and reach to put it up on a shelf.
It pays to very adaptable and strong in numerous directions.
Watch a YouTube video of a lumberjack cutting down a big tree with an axe.
It’s all about rotational strength, or centrifugal strength as I like to call it.
Lumberjacks are beastly strong.
So okay, you’re not a lumberjack.
You can still develop lots of rotational strength with steel mace and club training, and you don’t even have to go to the woods.
Watch this Mace Fit video on Instagram @2slingsteel and you’ll see what I mean.
If you “get it” on that, go check out the great deals on all out online course.
Stay strong and have a great weekend,
