We use clubs and maces in our training. Though they are both weight-adjustable, the mace is quite a bit longer.
The length of a mace makes even a light weight seem heavy. The further away from the center of the body that the weight moves the harder it is to move it.
For example, take a club and a mace that are the same weight and you’ll feel a big difference when you swing them.
You probably couldn’t hit a home run with a baseball bat that was only 18 inches long.
You need a regular size bat to do that.
Why?
Because it’s longer.
A person can throw a ball for his dog pretty far, but if he really wants to make that dog run further, he’ll use one of those throwing devices, which is much longer than his warm
An ancient warrior could throw a big stone only so far, but if he needs to throw a big stone a lobg way he needs a catapult.
Why?
Same reason, the catapult lever is much longer than his arm and is driven by much more force.
So now you know why you should use both a mace and clubs if you want to sling some serious steel.
