We were away for a weekend recently and while we were at the hotel we were offered a free exercise class.
No other description was given, just exercise.
So we said sure, let’s go see what it is.
Come to find out it was a HIIT partner workout. Surprise!
5 exercises, each one was 45 seconds max reps + 15 seconds of rest, then your partner goes.
Three rounds were done back to back:
partner situps
partner wheel barrow pushups
partner pistol squats (both go at the same time holding one of your partner’s hands)
partner leg slams
partner clapping planks
We don’t specifically train in these exercises so it was cool to be able to complete the workout anyhow.
Mostly I do Mace Fit with some pullups, dips, pushups and a little Pilates added in.
I had previously seen a big carryover from Mace Fit to heavy lifts, but I had never tested against HIIT.
Overall I was very pleased with how well it went.
We didn’t know what we were walking into, but it was a blast.
You never know until you try.
