Did you ever try to explain something to someone and they just don’t get it? Of course, they just might not be interested in what you have to say in the first place. In the likelihood that they do have some interest in hearing you out, then keep it simple and short. I remember when kettlebells were re-emerging in the U.S. around 2003 trying to explain how they worked was just about impossible. They just had to get one in their hands and see what it felt like. You could recite the whole “constantly varied movements…..” thing all you wanted, to no avail. They just had to try it out. I have found the same situation with maces & clubs. People just need to get their hands on an Adex steel mace or club and see what it feels like. So when I set up my Mace Fit booth, as a sponsor, at a Strongman event, I don’t explain much at all. I just get one in their hands. A heavy steel club or mace speaks for itself.
I have sponsored four Strongman events so far this year, and will do two more this year. Each time, when people “feel the steel” they get it. I especially like Strongman folks because they aren’t afraid of heavy stuff. They see how this can help keep their shoulders healthy, recover better, improve their range of motion, and get their cardio in with out the dreaded running. The iron never lies, neither does the steel. Coach D |
