WHY YOU SHOULD DO ISOTONIC EXERCISES

Isotonic exercises are a regular part of our Mace Fit® training.

I learned most the ones we use during the few months I spent in the  Russian martial art called Systema.

Though I had trained many years in other forms of martial arts, Systema was a real “eye-opener”.

Some otheir exercises were done very, very slowly. They were isotonic exercises.

We adapted them for Mace Fit® using steel clubs. One of the many benefits from them is stronger tendons, but there are many more. Here’s the science behind them.

They are deceptively hard to do. To increase the level of difficulty, go at a slower pace.

At my gym, the Cave, we just call them Russian exercises. A good example is Russian plank flys, shown below.
