I’m blessed to have some very tough Mace Fit athletes.
They train outdoors year round.
With the heat index in southwest Florida hitting 109 degrees by midday, we have to be smart about how we train.
A few days ago it was already 97 degrees at 8:45 am when our class started and hit 100 degrees by the time we finished at 9:30am.
Today it was 96 when I started my outdoor training and now is 101 and going up.
Some people say that heat index is not the real temperature, is as real as windchill up north.
I grew up in New England and if it was 30 degrees outside, the wind chill made it feel like 20.
So what’s the real temperature?
I love hot weather, which is one of the main reasons I live in Florida.
Here’s how we handle the heat and humidity during training.
This should be a “no-brainer”, but I know better.
You don’t have to stop training outdoors when it’s hot , but you have to adjust a few things.
Keep sling that steel!
